Since 1996 Babara Husar has been developing an extensive body of work called “DATA EXCHANGE” on journeys to the desert of Sinai. The initial point of her works – consisting of sculpture, film, photography and performance – is the drawing. Working on the intersection of different cultural circles, Husar provides a readable symbolic language by using easily attributable images such as “goat”, “fire pit” or “Marilyn Monroe”. The emblematic objects to illustrate the exchange of information in her work are umbilical cords taken from the artist’s own herd of goats.
