Heinz Frank

* 1939 in Vienna (AT)

“What you think is what you feel, What you feel is what you think” – thoughts like these cause Heinz Frank to create his pictures and objects. The trained architect, who also designs furniture, claims to never have found the “appropriate material”. He uses paint, wood and metal, but his ultimate materials are notes of his own impressions and thoughts. He uses them to create works like the legendary “Affenkäfig” (monkey’s cage) in the 1970s, or to compose pictures that are painted on both sides.
