He organized exhibitions in “Kippenberger’s office” in Berlin, alternated between theatrical performances and the world of punk rock, and acted in several motion pictures. Kippenberger’s work is characterized by derisive pictural inventions and image-text combinations touching the taboos of art. He knew how to provoke and steadily upset the Feuilleton. Shortly after his death he was stylized a forefather of German painting.
