Padhi Frieberger

* 1931 in Meidling im Tale, Krems Land (AT)
+ 2016 in Vienna (AT)

Padhi Friedberger started creating assemblages of different materials and sculptures made out of clutter right after the war ended.  A crucial part of his artistic work arises from extensively documenting and archiving his environment and surroundings: He photographed circa 3000 people, which were important to him. The artist used a lot of these pictures in his collages, where he then added texts. Anti-bourgeois persiflage and anarchic gestures form the earmarks of his art, exemplary for Viennese Actionism.
